Dropkick Murphys - The Green Fields of France (mp3)
Popularized by The Fureys, The Green Fields of France has become something of an anti-war classic.
I wouldn’t have thought the Murphys could have pulled it off (they did write The Spicy McHaggis Jig), but I think they do.
But here in this graveyard that’s still no mans land
The countless white crosses in mute witness stand
To man’s blind indifference to his fellow man
And a whole generation were butchered and damned
Does the chorus sound a bit familiar?
